Vietnam for kids (and their grown-ups, too)

(Tour code: Family - 01)

This 12-day tour is an example of one of our tailor-made leisure Vietnam family holidays - we'll be pleased to design a similar Vietnam vacation for you with dates and itinerary customised to your personal preferences.

Family holidays in Vietnam:
Haivenu's Vietnam family holidays recognise that there has to be a balance of activities to satisfy both children and parents so we include activities that can be experienced at different levels. We'll provide a guide who enjoys working with youngsters whilst simultaneously engaging their parents in culture and lifestyle. The objective is fun for all!

Your Vietnam vacation commences with …..
………your arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, a ‘Welcome’ dinner and a good night’s sleep. The next day involves visits to two of Vietnam’s must-see attractions, the massive network of narrow tunnels that defied the power of the B45s and the US army, and Cao Dai, the world’s newest mass religion and its outrageously flamboyant temple.

Meals: one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner
Guide: airport pick-up and the next day

Two days in the Mekong
Enter the world of the Mekong Delta where the mighty river inundates the land every year flooding the land to a depth of several metres. You’ll explore a culture adapted to a water world, floating markets, networks of islands, cottage industries, orchards loaded with exotic fruits and lots more. There’s nothing quite like it in Vietnam, or even in the rest of the world.

For adventurous children (and even more daring adults?) we’ve added ostrich riding and crocodile fishing as optional free extras.

Meals: two breakfasts and two lunches
Guide: all the way!

Three days in Dalat
The Vietnamese call it a ‘romantic honeymoon destination’, only because the temperature is cool throughout the year. In reality, it’s a small city looking much like most others perched on the edge of Vietnam’s Central Highland plateaux. As for romance, it’s more like the ‘kingdom of kitsch’ epitomised by the bizarre Crazy House, Dalat cowboys, a beer-bottle dragon, a railway station with only 8km network of track, a ten metre concrete chicken and lots more. Children love it, but there’s also plenty to please the grown-ups as well.

Meals: three breakfasts and two lunches
Guide: two days

Four days in Nha Trang
The French used to regard it a ‘Vietnam’s Rivera’, a description that stretches the imagination beyond belief. However, it is the closest place in the country to conventional seaside resorts elsewhere. A vast sandy beach, plenty of restaurants, several good hotels, boat cruises, cultural sites and something for everyone, especially those on family holidays. There plenty for youngsters – wallowing in sloppy goo in the mud baths is always a huge hit!

Meals: four breakfasts and one lunch (three if you take both the alternatives in the full itinerary)
Guide: not necessary

Back to normality
All good things come to an end! We’ll fly you back to Ho Chi Minh City to connect with your homebound flight.

Meals: one breakfast
Guide: not necessary
