After arriving on the noon flight, check-in to your hotel, and some rest time, the a relaxing afternoon walking tour will get you acquainted with the easygoing lifestyle of the Lao people and their small Capital. Although not on a par with Luang Prabang, there are some interesting attractions for your guide to show you on the following day, including Vientiane's oldest temple, Wat Si Saket, Wat Ong Tu, That Luang Stupa, the 'morning' market and Patuxay monument.

Two nights in Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is splendid, and gives the visitor a nearly tangible sense of the untouched culture of the Lao people before the arrival of western influence. At five hundred years old the stunning Wat Xieng Thong sits at the heart of Luang Prabang's historic buildings, encircled by mountains and peacefully set along the banks of the Mekong river. Let your guide peruade you to clamber up the 328 steps to the temple of Phousi for a beautiful sunset panorama.
Next day, if you can cope with an early rise, you can watch the 5 am. procession of monks for the daily almsgiving ritual, a ribbon of Saffron, stretching into both distance and time. After breakfast a trip to Kuangsi waterfalls will delight you with its leafy serenity. Take the following day at the leisure this tranquil town inspires.
