... a transfer from the airport, time to relax, a 'Welcome' dinner and a busy day investigating Vietnam's Imperial heartland in prospect. With the massive Citadel, the flamboyant tombs of the Nguyen Emperors, distinctive cuisine, rich cultural traditions and the peaceful Perfume River, Hue has a lot to offer. You'll see it all. You'll also cycle around the ‘garden house' area, and eat classic Hue cuisine prepared and served by a descendent of the Imperial Court.
A day in the war zone
The DMZ was the theatre where the Vietnam War raged most fiercely. There's not much left, but your expert guide will revisit the past to place one of the most savage conflicts into its historical context. It's an evocative place – whispered echoes of the battles seem to float through the air, speaking not only of death and destruction but also of rebirth and renewal. Then it's back to Hue with a free morning to follow.
Four days in Hoi An
Beguiling Hoi An is the polar opposite to Hue, a tiny ancient port tucked away in the middle of a modern town - most of our clients call it ‘charming'. Its peaceful streets and old wooden houses cuddle up to each other and gaze across what was once the sea that made it an important trading centre, but is now the Thu Bon River. The Ancient Town is also within easy reach of Cua Dai Beach, part of the stretch of sand that includes the famous My Khe Beach.You'll have a guide to show you Hoi An's chequered history and an excursion to My Son, a remarkable monument to an even more remarkable civilization. Then it's back to the airport for your flight to either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

At the time of quotation, Haivenu reserves the right to adjust prices to take account of unusual movements in currency markets, hotel and transport costs as a result of inflationary price pressures in oil and other commodity markets.
These prices are valid until October 31, 2018. Please note that bank transfer fees are not included.
*‘Single room occupancy’ refers to the accommodation element of the programme only, and applies to someone who is travelling with others but requires an additional room for him or herself. Single traveller prices are available on request.
Our prices include:
- Breakfast and accommodation sharing a twin or double room.
- Pick-ups and transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle as specified in the itinerary above (Please note: pick-ups will be by a guide and driver or, where a guide is not necessary, a driver only. All unaccompanied drivers will be briefed in advance, and will carry a mobile phone to ensure smooth transfer arrangements)
- Domestic flight ticket: Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (or Hanoi), including domestic airport taxes.
- Boat cruises as specified in the programme.
- Travel in an appropriate private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced safe driver.
- The services of experienced English-speaking guides as indicated in the itinerary (please note: guides will be on hand from pick-up until guest's return to their hotel or reaching their destination). Free days or part days will not include the services of a guide unless requested and included in the final itinerary.
- Where necessary, entry fees for all visits as mentioned in the programme.
- Lunches and dinners (as specified in the itinerary) in the best local restaurants, or picnics where no suitable restaurant is available.
- VAT and other taxes
Our prices do not include:
- International flight tickets and airport tax.
- Domestic flight ticket: Hanoi/or Ho Chi Minh City – Hue.
