Hotel list for the Nature Trails Adventure Tour

Nature Trails - accommodation
In most National Parks, travelling distance makes the parks’ guesthouses the only viable place to spend the night. In such cases, it’s wise to anticipate a very basic standard of food and accommodation. Typically, meals will be simple Vietnamese food, and rooms will have a bed, mosquito nets, a fan, a shower, a squat toilet and not much else. The bed is likely to have a thin mattress on a wooden plank base with a single blanket or nylon sheet. Towels will probably be provided, but are usually the size of a large face flannel. Take your own soap and toilet paper, just in case, and make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellent and sun cream.

The list below is based upon a mid-range standard of accommodation in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. If you would prefer a higher standard, please let us know.

Accommodation for Mid-range standard:

  • Hanoi:
Quoc Hoa Hotel (*** interesting hotel in the heart of Hanoi's 'Old Quarter' about a ten-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake - Superior room)
  • Cuc Phuong:
National Park accommodation complex on two main sites with rooms in blocks and stand-alone chalets. The latter are reasonably comfortable with air conditioning and a hot water shower, with a snack restaurant nearby. There's also an evening meal delivery service. (We use the Chalet rooms)
  • Bach Ma:
National Park: low-grade accommodation in large dormitory-style renovated stone villas built during the French occupation, and the better purpose-built Morin guesthouse with an in situ restaurant, hot water showers and reasonable rooms. Dampness is prevalent and service is poor (we use the best room available in the Morin guesthouse)
  • Nam Cat Tien:
National Park accommodation complex on single site with large villa-style blocks and single storey terraces. Rooms have hot water showers and air-conditioning - the higher standard rooms are quite comfortable. There's a large swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis, and so on. (we use the best rooms in the terraces)
  • Ho Chi Minh City:
Kim Do Hotel (**** city centre location - Superior room)

If, at the time of booking, any hotels or rooms in the list above are fully booked, we will endeavour to find accommodation of a similar standard elsewhere. If the only available accommodation is of a higher or lower standard, we will revise the price accordingly and consult you immediately.
