An comprehensive overview of Vietnam's Ethnic Communities

Hanoi’s Ethnology Museum is located about half an hour’s drive from the city centre. It’s a large modern building imaginatively designed and located in attractive gardens.

It’s devoted to all aspects of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, and is considered the best museum in Vietnam. A more detailed description can be found in ‘Hanoi’s Museums’A reasonable visit is likely to take more than a couple of hours. With the travelling time added, it will take up a full morning or afternoon. It’s excellent value for time if you are heading for Sapa and are keen to know more about the ethnic minority groups you’ll encounter. If, however, you are mainly looking forward to enjoying Sa Pa’s beautiful scenery and would rather spend more time exploring Hanoi, just let us know and we’ll provide you with a few information sheets that you can peruse at your leisure instead.
