Grand Hotel (awaiting classification)

Our brief comments:
The four-storey Grand Hotel opened during the summer of 2004 in a recently renovated French building and is currently one of the best Vung Tau hotels. Located on the seafront, it shares its pool with the adjacent Palace Hotel.

The entrance foyer is pleasantly airy with a large atrium encompassing part of a high quality restaurant. The menu is appealing - there's a good buffet breakfast, too.

Its 80 rooms are well appointed and standards of furniture, soft furnishings and bedlinen are high. Standard rooms are large, but lack a balcony, sea view and a bathtub (the latter is scheduled to be installed in the near future). Otherwise, they share the same high standards with the more expensive rooms.

Deluxe rooms have a balcony and seaview. Suites are well-proportioned. Bathrooms have a bath/shower and an additional separate shower. All rooms have daily fresh fruit.

The hotel also has six serviced apartments on the top floor for longer stays or those preferring self-catering.
