Bong Sen 1 Hotel***

Our brief comments:
The Bong Sen is a typical city hotel. It's a medium-rise building located in the heart of the city centre on Dong Khoi Street, the epicentre of Ho Chi Minh City's chic shopping area.

Its rooms are comfortable, but some have little or no natural light because the hotel is part of a city block on both sides. However, they are a reasonable size and have all the standard facilities.

The single 'Mangostine' (sic) restaurant serves international and Asian cuisines. It's on the small side, but as there are dozens of good restaurants within a few minutes walk, most guests opt for eating out. Breakfast is an adequate international buffet.

The grandly-named 'Saigon VIP Health Club' has a small gym, sauna, steam bath, spa pool and massage services.

The Bong Sen scores heavily on its location close to the heavyweight Sheraton, Caravelle and other landmark hotels. It offers reasonable accommodation, and if you're not bothered by a window to nowhere, a reasonable price to match.
