Sea Horse Resort****

Our brief comments: The Sea Horse Resort's reception building - the entrance to the resort is to the right
Opened in May, 2004, the Sea Horse is a comparatively recent arrival on Mui Ne Beach. It consists of bungalows and a three-story building overlooking the sea and 200m of white sand beach.

The attractive open-sided reception building is adjacent to the resort's entrance, separated from the accommodation area. A matt terra cotta tiled floor, open beams and pillars, oriental motifs and good rattan furniture are an encouraging introduction. The lush gardens and the presence of running water makes the gardens a haven of cool shade

Adjacent to the reception building is a seafood restaurant with a terrace.

From there, 'crazy paving' paths and a natural stream meander through mature tropical gardens where the villas are located.

The choice rooms are the Seaview Bungalows. Each building consists of four rooms arranged around a small The stylish Seaview Bungalow room overlooking the small enclosed courtyardenclosed courtyard with plants and pebbles.

Inside, the floors are terra cotta tiles laid diagonally. Good soft furnishings and furniture, period ceiling fans and Japanese touches make good use of the exceptionally large floor area.

Bathrooms are particularly well done - good quality tiling, a chic colour scheme, circular ceramic basins and a view across a small private garden from theThe Hippocampe restaurant has good views over the pool and beach shower area.

The semi-circular 'Hippocampe' restaurant is well-designed with good furniture and a terrace. Prices for the mainly Vietnamese menu are slightly above average. There's a decent wine list, but it's expensive.

Adjacent to the beach, there's a large rectangular swimming pool with a whirlpool, a children's pool The Sea Horse Resort's pool - picture taken from the restaurant's terraceseparated from the main pool area, a wide pool surround with a barbeque area, and a poolside bar.

Away from the beach, the resort provides a small spa with saunas and massage, but no treatments.

If you're looking for a good small beach resort, the Sea Horse is worth considering. Its lush gardens, stylish villas and well designed pool places it above average for this category of hotel.
