Novotel Coralia ****
Our brief comments:
The five-storey Novotel Coralia Resort opened in 1998. It's a medium-rise block hotel adjacent to the Ocean Dunes Golf Club sandwiched between the golf course and the sea.
Unlike most of Phan Thiet's resorts, it's in Phan Thiet town rather than Mui Ne beach.
The hotel's main attraction is a 18-hole 6,723-yard par 72 golf course designed by Nick Faldo and located on an outstanding natural site with sand  dunes, sea breezes, beach vegetation, and sea views. It was rated the best course in Vietnam by Golf Digest, and its 9th hole was selected as one of 'The Best 500 Holes in The World'.
However, if you're not a golf fanatic, there's more to do at the Novotel than swatting a ball around a field. In addition to the golf course, you'll find two pools, tennis courts, and a private beach with jet skis and small sailboats for rent.
 Standard rooms are smaller than today's average with just enough room for an extra bed if required. All rooms look out on to the golf course and are simply furnished.
Superior rooms are similar but have sea views and slightly more decoration in the room.
Deluxe rooms also have sea views and have an additional small sofa area and a writing desk.
The Seahorse restaurant provides international favourites and Southeast Asian specialities  with seafood plucked fresh from the sea. The wine list is above average.
The cutely named 'Bar-A-Cuda‘ overlooks the garden and swimming pool. It serves drinks, cocktails, snacks and an Asian speciality bar menu, and provides live music in the evening.
The Novotel is more of a traditional hotel than the Coco Beach, but lacks its languid ambiance. In our opinion, the Novotel is a place for those who want something to do, whereas Coco Beach is a place for those who want to do nothing!
