Our brief comments:
Cat Ba Island is arguably one of the least attractive seaside towns in Vietnam, mainly due to a jumble of poor quality cheap hotels that have sprung up in the last few years.

With 50 bedrooms, the seven-story Prince Hotel is one of the larger and better establishments. Even so, the decor, furniture, fixtures and fittings are mostly budget quality, rooms are small, and facilities are limited in comparison with its equivalent on the mainland.
