Nha Trang Lodge Hotel****

Our brief comments:
The 12-storey lodge opened in 1996, and was beginning to show its age.

In common with many other hotels built before the tourism boom got underway, the hotel seems somewhat dated and lacks some modern facilities. Nevetheless, it's in a good central location.

When we checked in 2004, there had been no major renovations, but a recent addition of a differentiation between 'economy' and 'deluxe' standard rooms suggests that some upgrading has taken place. We'll make a follow-up inspection later this year.

The Lodge markets itself as a 'business' hotel although its conference and meeting capacity extends only to 80 delegates.

Rooms are on the small side, and the floor area of the Suite rooms is marginally larger than a standard room elsewhere.

The restaurant status of the hotel is unclear - current promotional material suggests there is a single restaurant offering Asian, European and Korean/Japanese cuisines. There's also an outdoor barbeque restaurant.

The pool is also quite small for a hotel with 120 rooms.
