La Résidence Hotel and Spa****
Our brief comments: 
La Résidence is near Hue's railway station on the banks of the Perfume River overlooking the Imperial Citadel on the opposite bank.
Originally the Govenor's resident, it's a tastefully renovated building in an attractive colonial architectural style redolent of the first half of the 20th century. The restoration has been sensitively managed with many Art Deco features.
Rooms are small but elegant.
As well as the facilities you would expect in a high-quality four-star boutique hotel, all rooms have a private balcony or terrace.
Le Parfum is the hotel's main restaurant serving Vietnamese, Asian and international quisines.
Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style, but there's also a full à la carte menu.
Le Governeur lobby bar provides cocktails, drinks and light snacks - the hotel's pool bar offers a similar range.
 La Flamboyant Spa has a complete range of Vietnamese and international standard health treatments.
As the hotel is comparatively new, feedback from customers has been sparse. However, all comments so far have ranged between good and excellent.
We haven't inspected La Résidence yet, but as it's managed by the highly respected Accor Group, we're confident that the hotel will be well worth a visit.
