Galaxy Hotel***

Our brief comments:
The recently renovated six-storey Galaxy was built as a factory in 1929 and later converted into an sixty-room hotel.

It's located on a corner of a very busy junction to the north of the Old Quarter, about a ten-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, and is popular with large tour groups. Both the facade and interior of the building is nondescript in appearance.

The front of the hotel faces a small park in the centre of a busy thoroughfare: those around the corner have a partial view over the Old Quarter from the upper floors.

The Deluxe rooms are below average size, as are the bathrooms. Suites are larger and have the best views with windows facing two directions.

The restaurant caters mainly for the Asian customers that make up most of the longer-stay clientele. The breakfast menu is more international: feedback comment is favourable.

Although its facilities are limited, the Galaxy offers clean and comfortable accommodation at an agreeable price.
