Post Hotel***
Our brief comments:
The Post Hotel is adjacent to the main post office in Bai Chai, the tourist area of Ha Long City. It's conveniently located near the restaurants and tourist attractions.
 Opened in 2002, the hotel has 10 floors overlooking the bay. It's a basic Vietnamese hotel offering reasonable accommodation. The entrance lobby is clinical rather than welcoming - shiny tiled floors and straight lines.
Apart from the Suites, rooms are on the small side and functional with aluminium window frames and uninspiring decor, fittings and furniture.
There are two places to eat, the Peach and the VIP restaurants. Both have basic menus at reasonable prices.
The Post is owned and managed by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and thus has an institutional feel to the place. Nevertheless, room prices are reasonable. For visitors on a tight budget, it's worth considering
