Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi*****

Our brief comments:
The 107 rooms and suits of the Hotel de l’Opera HanoiThe 107 rooms and suits of the Hotel de l’Opera Hanoi serve up sumptuous comfort at a location that could hardly be improved upon. A newcomer to an old neighbourhood, Hotel de l’Opera is quickly making an impression.

Opened in 2011, this MGallery Collection hotel takes boutique sophistication to a new level, with a glamorous bohemian flair you have not seen before. Its theatrical interior design and classic opera motifs blend with colonial accents to create an atmosphere unique to Hanoi.

In the heart of the city centre, this Trang Tien Street location is a mere block from Hanoi’s historic Opera House, two blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake, and a few minutes walk from Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Rooms on the upper floors feature views of the Opera House. Trang Tien Ice Cream, a perennial Hanoi hotspot among young people of all ages, is a few steps up the street.

Rooms are lavishly fitted with amenities creating a hip, contemporary feel. The cool tropical wooden floors complement hand picked Asian textiles and silks in vibrant colours. The decor is flamboyant – some would say “Liberace gone crazy” – but if you are ready for the over-the-top style it only adds magic to the space.A living room

The beds are comfortable although exceptionally high, and the pillow selection and the bedside laptop connection to the plasma TV make working or surfing from your perch a true pleasure.

Bathrooms are large with a similarly exotic design, and all have a bathtub and separate shower.

Cafe-Lautrec-Restaurant-OperaThe central location makes exploring Hanoi on foot a joy, and tour services and vehicle rental are also provided. The business centre and conference facilities are state-of-the-art, with full secretarial and translation services available.

The anticipation of a night at the opera is best enjoyed at the in-house fine dining establishment, the Satine. Café Lautrec provides more relaxed dining throughout the day, and La Fée Verte offers up cocktails and nightcaps.

Its exceptional location and unique design place Hotel de L’Opera high on the list for upscale accommodation in Hanoi.
